Chronicles2 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
David was a person of prayer who communicated with God a lot. In the field, he played the harp often during shepherding his father's lambs. Actually, it was his prayer he offered up to God. David loved God so much that he enjoyed talking to Him.
Even when he saved his lamb from attack of a beast, he prayed God with overflowing joy. He prayed God when he was in trouble, as well.
You may know already the famous story of David that he won over Goliath, the giant. He was too young, and with only sling and stones. However, God gave him a victory, "for the battle is not yours, but God's."
Since that day, the people praised David saying he is better than King Saul. So the king determined to kill David.
David fled away from him. Meanwhile, he offered even more hymns and psalms up to God sharing his struggles. David was so sad and afraid, but was in peace because he believed God's mercy and love toward him.
Psalms 57:1 For the director of music. To the tune of "Do Not Destroy." Of David. A miktam. When he had fled from Saul into the cave. Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me, for in you my soul takes refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.
How great it is that we can talk to God? Prayer is the greatest joy and privilege that God allowed us. Let us enjoy this blessing and happiness all the time.
