The Parable of Talents and Minas III

Sep 26, 2017 11:01 PM EDT

Matthew 25:24 "Then the man who had received the one talent came. 'Master,' he said, 'I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed.
25:25 So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.'
25:26 "His master replied, 'You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed?
25:27 Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.
25:28 "'Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents.

Why did not we put it to work? The second reason is fear. There was fear of the owner. I did not trust the owner. The reason I kept it is that I was scared because I was afraid. Because I thought the owner thought it was unfair.

In Matthew 25:24, who did not sow, is the one who demands fruit. I think it is an unjust God. Yes. We also do that in unconscious minds. You gave a lot of that guy, and I have less, so my life is like this...

Let us believe in God who is fair, and believe in God, who loves us and gives us even his son. God is not one who gives a talent and request a thousand talents.

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
4:19 We love because he first loved us.

We can believe in God's love because He first loved us. We can love Him because He first gave His only Son for us. With such a great love, God is leading our lives wholly, and if we believe that God's will is always perfect and just, any fear will disappear. Trusting love drives any fear. Absolute faith drives fear. Conclusively, it's a matter of faith.

In sum, is life like a business?

Jesus says that life is like a business. Why is life business? What kind of life is our life? It is our life that Jesus really wanted to save so much that he died on the cross. The value of our lives is the value of the life of Son of God that he gave up on the cross. It is a life of value for the price, and if we make a profit that is greater than its value, the death of Jesus, his sacrifice, become worth.

There is a good news from this story. You can lose the business of the world. There are so many people whose business has ruined. But the business of our lives does not fail. Always profitable... In Jesus' words, there are no stories that of the people who failed and got rebuked.

The life of a believer is a business that never fails. In our eyes, like failure, it may seem like a minus, but it is a business that can never be negative in God's eyes.

The problem is that when I hide, when I bury, when I do not reveal it, when I do not appreciate, God hates it. Evil and lazy servant! Before, I never thought that just staying without doing anything was a sin. But this is a great pain to God.

To stay without putting it to work is to not appreciate our life, the salvation we have already received, not fully trusting in God, disobeying because we don't believe absolutely. God is sad for this.

God will never ruin our lives. The big, small, and the small and the small are not the focus. The focus is ... The talent is the grace that has been given to us, and it is the grace that has been given without value, and it is important how to take it out though it is small. When you use it, you will make profit.

What was the reason God gave Minas? Why did he give Minas to his servants?

The master praises the man who earned many and does not put his money in his pocket. He also gives him ten Minas with even ten cities. The reason he gave Minas was because he wanted to give something bigger more. What's the bigger one? In Matthew 5, this is Heaven. Heaven is the biggest blessing. How you live in this world determines your life in the eternal world. We are heirs to inherit the kingdom of heaven. In the parable of the vineyard workers, why did the master call the worker into the vineyard? He calls to give him his wages. In the Bible, the vineyard is heaven. In fact, the kingdom of God can be made by God alone. Is not that right? He is almighty God. But why do he give us work? Why did he call us and give us a mission? The one who serves is the master. He is calling us to make us the true master of heaven.

The reason we got the talent is to get to heaven, to expand the heaven. When everything we have is used for the kingdom of God, our lives are truly valuable and meaningful.

Finally, what is the most profitable thing left by working our lives? Saving souls.

In Luke 19:11, the reason why Jesus gave the parable comes out. You can see that Jesus wanted to tell them that the kingdom of God comes differently from their thought that it will suddenly come right away.

We also can say that Minas symbolized time and life, but the fact that a man who received one left ten, means that the saved one saved ten men. When we see it, when others are saved by us, the kingdom of God comes and expends. There are many things we have to challenge in life, the most important challenge is saving soul. Saving soul never fails. Why? All our efforts are recorded in heaven and God never forgets. Not only that, evangelism gives birth to life. We share with God the joy of life, the joy of heaven, which nobody can take away. Become the master of heaven.

Let us appreciate the talents we have received and make life worthwhile and precious. Let us be use our talents well, and leave many eternal things. I hope we can be the master of the kingdom of heaven who extends the kingdom of God greatly on this earth.
