Recently YEF Kenya grows in Bible students with many of the members of Nairobi Gratia Church being included in the fellowship (Youth Evangelical Fellowship). They’re eager to come to church to listen to the word of God for the evening prayer meeting. Some are also joining the Bible study in the afternoon during the week days. Through that the members are growing in God with their faith toward Jesus Christ. Especially they are meditating the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the Lent period. They want to know God more deeply and live according to God’s will for their life with pure heart.
This is a great contrast to before when, the missionaries could experience people coming to church with some other motives. Almost all of them left the church eventually. But the people who come to church with the longing heart toward the word of God, wouldn’t leave Him like the story at the end of John 6, which says,
“Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.” (John 6:68-69)
There would be nothing else except for the true word of God to save and change the people. Let’s pray that many can come before God to listen to God’s words and they can grow as a blessing for the kingdom of God.
